Formed in the summer of 2006, the band came to the attention of legendary DJ and edit don, Greg Wilson, in Melbourne last October, when Kraviz, one of the students at the annual Red Bull Music Academy, played ‘Amok’ to him following his lecture. Wilson was immediately struck with the track’s distinctive mood and melancholy and, upon his return to the UK, emailed the band with the suggestion that he put together his own version. Having done this he decided he’d like to go the whole hog and actually issue ‘Amok’ on his new B77 label, once everything was up and running. With much more in the pipeline, MySpaceRocket are set to make a big impression in the year ahead. They’re currently building a strong following in their home country of Russia via a series of live performances, whilst, away from the band, both Stas Cross and Nina Kraviz are successful DJ’s in their own right.
