About Me

GET PETE'S CD NOW - Individual tracks or the whole shebang!!
Peter Healy and the Hurricanes - Blowin’ up a storm.
From raw, acoustic folk with voice and acoustic guitar, to delicious electric blues and swampy soulful grooves that evoke a myriad of feelings and emotion, this music is deserving of your attention.
4 and 5 part vocal harmonies take the music straight to the human heart. Guitarist (Dayle Hutchin) is just groovin' and blowing some wicked solos too. Michael Williams is one shit hot drummer!!! Then there's old faithful. The undeniably quirky genius of David 'Krusty' Underwood. He's simply the most solid of band members with the best ear in the world.

Shining light though is THE AMAZING: COLENE CRAWFORD. Man, this girl can sing! Doesn't need a damn microphone! Huge voice and astoundly positive stage energy. She's just ON! Sometimes, if you're really lucky you find something special. I think, as a band we have found some potent magic together. Can't wait to be able to record us. Very soon now. The best bit? The're all really good people too. A joy to play with 'em. Cheers to ya. Pete

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: Sadly it's down for the moment
Band Members: Regulars include: Pete: Guitars, Vocals and Harmonica / Colene Crawford: Vocals / David 'Krusty' Underwood: Keyboards and Vocals / Michael Williams: Drums / Dayle Hutchin: Guitars and Vocals / David Ward: Saxophone and Vocals /

Occasional members - Live and Recording: Julia Parker: Guitar and Vocals / Phil Manning: Guitar / Phil Emmanuel: Guitar / Calvin Welsch: Drums / Phil Grove: Hammond Organ and Wurlitzer / Bill Robinson: Bass / Andrew Swan: Keyboards /
Influences: Probably the most obvious is influence from the deep south of USA eg: Blues/Gospel/Soul/Country(but not western)/Jazz/Rock/Funk. . . Think NEW ORLEANS.
Traditional Favourites: LITTLE FEAT - Lowell George (who had the blackest sounding white voice I have evern heard and played a mean slide guitar), ERIC CLAPTON (who's like an old wine - better and better), Santana (who not only turned me on to sweet lead guitar, but opened my ears to percussion) The amazing Frank Zappa (love the story telling - the astounding music speaks for it'self, but the stories... Wow!) There's Pink Floyd, Ray Charles, Bonnie Raitt, The astounding John Cleary (who is simply THE FUNKIEST MAN ON THE PLANET!!!)
The Temptations (for the funkiest of harmonies), Led Zep, Muddy Waters (who once said "If you're into a deep groove - Don't fuck with it!!") Early Rolling Stones, John Lee Hooker, Booker White, Willie Nelson, Aretha Franklin, The Neville Brothers, Herbie Hancock, Michael Franks, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Miles Davis, The Kings, (BB, Albert and Freddie), Junior Wells, Early Cold Chisel. The amazing Phil Emmanuel. African stuff too (It all came from there anyway)
MODERN WOW FACTOR: I am over the moon for The DEREK TRUCK'S BAND (I want what they're having!!!) Pink (is ballsy and amazing!!!) Christine Aguliera can bloody sing!! Big and Rich's first album is astounding, even Matt Bloody Corcoran inspired me (who?) Last, but most importantly, my friend and constant inspiration on the guitar: the ridiculously talented JULIA PARKER (with Oysters, Red Wine and a fine Cheese or two thrown in) I could go on - it's ALL amazing! Just be true to you!
