I Of The Storm

About Me

I Of The Storm are a Metal band from Hamilton, New Zealand. Their sound, while heavy, remains melodic, though they cross multiple genres of metal from melodic/progressive to death/black.The 'I Of The Storm' project was formed in late 2005, rising from the ashes of the late Iron Maiden cover band 'Pantheon'. Chris (drums) and Steve (guitar/vocals) were joined by Dave (guitar), and began having their first practices, initially playing a melodic style of metal. They were later joined by Gareth (bass), with Rachel (keyboards) to follow soon after, thus cementing the lineup of the band. What originally started as a melodic metal project has swiftly progressed, adapting idea's and techniques from heavier styles of metal, including black, death and progressive metals. The band have now settled on a style which incorporates each of these different sub genres, creating something that can only really be described as 'Metal'.I Of The Storm played their first gig at Hamilton's 'The Boiler Room' in October 2006, for Gothfest '06. The success of this gig has spurred them on to continue the project, aiming to further the cause of real metal. Make sure to check them out!
