Little Arthur Duncan is the last of the real deal Chicago bluesman. Born in Mississippi 73 years ago, he has been on the Chicago blues scene since it's heyday in the 1950's. Arthur has played the bars and saloons on the westside of town and has even owned a couple of clubs himself. Little Arthur's style follows the Chicago greats like Jimmy Reed and Howlin' Wolf and he sounds today as if you were in a bar on West Madison Street in 1959. This is the rough and tumble blues that made Chicago famous.
Little Arthur has recorded for Delmark, Blues King, Random Chance, Cannonball and an upcoming release on Severn, 'Chicago Blues Harmonica Project 2, More Rare Gems'.
Little Arthur passed away Aug. 20, 2008 after spending several months in the hospital as the result of a stroke.
