Sophia, Sophia!

About Me

Sophia Sophia formed sometime in late July of 2007 by Zach and Zach. The original concept was to create a punk / indie monstrosity composed primarily of 4-chords and 4-tracks. Something in the vein of the Thermals. They ended up getting Matt to "fill-in" on drums. Over time the band's math rock influences came into play (Don Cab, Blood Brothers, Shellac), and the music went from pop-punk to some goofy low-beat algebra problem. It became apparent that something needed to change, either the drums needed to get more complicated or there needed to be a second guitar. Both problems were solved when Taylor entered the picture in December of 2007, and Matt moved over to guitar.
When not playing shows, writing songs, or recording, the kids of Sophia Sophia enjoy hiking in the woods, tether ball and learning curse words in foreign languages.
