This page began as an experiment. As of today, some things I made a long time ago while just messing around have been played nearly 20,000 times. Some people said I was stupid to make this, but it is now obvious that I would have been stupid to have not made this and that the people who thought I was stupid for making this are actually much more stupid than they had originally perceived me to be. This page now serves as a reminder to me and to others that if you think of something that you think is a good idea, you should see it through even if your own friends say that it is stupid or that you are weird for thinking of it. From this day forward, every play that this page gets will serve as a punch in the face to each and every one of its detractors.I wanted to pay tribute to Sanford and Son in a way that no one had ever done before. One of my earliest memories is of seeing a rerun of Sanford and Son on TV and of it being so bright that it burned my eyes. I was fascinated with it from that point on. Since I did not have a grandfather growing up, I decided that if I had a grandfather he would have been like Fred Sanford. I learned a lot from watching this show and I think it is one of the best shows ever. They do not make shows like this anymore and they never will again. It dealt with some serious issues regarding race and inequality and it would be way too controversial for mainstream TV today. Redd Foxx was a comedic genius and we were lucky to have had him. A long time ago I began messing around with audio clips from the show and some beats. I discovered that Hip Hop and Sanford and Son went together like Champagne and Ripple. The connection between the show and hip hop is similar to that of the relationship between Darkside of the Moon and The Wizard of OZ. While the original songs have been lost to time, these tracks which were made a few years ago offer a close facsimile of what they were like. They might not be the best songs that you ever heard but they were not meant to be so deal with it. At this point, I am doing much crazier things than this so I don’t care if you don’t like these songs. However, the success of this page has prompted me to put a little more effort into its maintenance and I plan on making a few new songs in the old school style of these tracks and putting them up here once we get over 20,000 plays. I want to say that I really appreciate all of the support of the friends of this page and that you will always be remembered. You have helped this page to far surpass anyone’s expectations and your positive vibes have contributed to a victory over everyone in the world who sucks. I set out to pay tribute to Sanford and Son in a way that no one had ever done before. Thanks to you, I have accomplished this feat. Now, I am setting the bar even higher. We are going to try to meet Rollo and/or Lamont. This may be a pretty lofty goal but I never thought that these beats would have gotten 20,000 plays so why not go big? If I can arrange this, you are all invited. Please tell everyone you know about this page and keep us in your top friends. Also, make sure you support the music of some of my top friends.
Thanks Again.
