Gry Bay holds a master degree in drama and music from University of Copenhagen and has a scholarship for the School of Music and Theatre Arts at Washington State University, Pullman and is studying Acting and Theatre Science in the University of Copenhagen. Acting classes in Tjekhov by Bruce Katzman. Acting classes at The Theatre "Det Gode HÃ¥b". Acting lessons by Preben Kristensen. Singing classes by Ian Adams, Cathrine Sadolin and Per Riis. Trained in Classical Ballet, Tap dance, Jazz & modern dance. Biography:
Gry showed her versatile talent by leaping to the rescue and taking over the lead role as Sally in Me And My Girl on Nørrebros Teater without rehearsals for three nights running when the original actress fell ill. After this succes she got one of the leading characters as Brooke Ashton in Michael Frayn's acclaimed comedy "Noises Off" on the same theater. She plays the lead Anna in the movie "All About Anna" and a leading character Tanya in the movie "Last Exit", both released in 2006, Blockbuster movies. She also played the female lead in the feature film "Slim, Slam, Slum" in Danish Cinemas August 2002 and enjoyed great succes on DVD in 2003. She wrote lyrics and music for some of the songs in the movie and in the movie Last Exit. Her role in "All About Anna" led to a part in Pipilotti Rist's video/film installation "Homo sapiens sapiens" for the Biennale in Venice 2005. Summer 2001 she toured as the leadsinger in the Danish band Crispy/XPY.
1997 - 1998 Gry was starring in "Dr. Monika Lindt" a German TV series which was aired prime time on RTL and led to another starring role in the film "Where Did You Last See Your Trousers?" made for cable TV. 1998 was also the year Gry toured England and USA with Kid Creole as a Coconut and solo singer. Since 1995 Gry had bit parts in the main Theatres in Denmark as a singer and dancer in various musicals such as West Side Story, Grease, Guys And Dolls and Crazy For You. She played Aisa in the danish cinema movie "Grønne Hjerter" in Blockbuster 2007.
She came out with her CD "Thousands of Butterflies" for download sales only in 2007.
