(BETTER MAN "every soldier's song""Wake up with fresh eyes in the morning. Maybe all this will go away."-Fresh EyesWith their 2005 debut soundtrack release, "Saint Christopher's Garden", The Silver Brothers, demonstrated a variety of talents. John Tenting, wrote the mystery thriller screenplay and along with his brother, Rick, wrote, performed and produced the entire soundtrack together. An unconventional, but, unique introduction to listeners."I'm Depending On You" received Honorable Mention in the 2007 Singer Songwriter Awards.
On Saint Christopher's Garden, Singer/Songwriter John Tenting wanted to produce a diary per se; each song written for a specific scene, moment or character in the story. This led to a diverse collection of material ranging from hard melodic rock, " Narimba's Plan", to instrumental pieces, "The Music Box Song" and "The Balled Of Saint Christopher's Garden".
John reflected on the original idea for the screenplay.
"Most people thought it was a religious theme, when in fact, it's not about religion at all. It's about something everyone on this earth needs...hope and faith.
Rick Tenting grew up in Saint Louis, Missouri and by the time he was 16, he was playing gigs in Gaslight Square. After moving to Los Angeles at 18, he's had the opportunity to play with likes of Don Henly and Dwight Twilley to mention a couple. His lead guitar work has been compared to greats like Clapton and Frampton.
Says Rick, "Those are two of my heroes, so , it always sends chills down my spine when someone says that".
You can hear the reason why on The Silver Brothers latest release, "I'm In Control". John's lyrics are a piece of advice to himself.
John said, "When nothing is going right and it just seems to keep getting worse, sometimes you have to give yourself a pep talk. That's what this song is about. It's an artificial resucitation, empowering yourself."
