The purpose of this page and of Minusu is much more than just music. In 2002, my wife lost her youngest son, Nathan in a tragic accident. In a moment our lives forever changed. Death is part of life and something we all have to deal with. However, when a child dies, there is a feeling of despair and hopelessness that is unexplainable unless you have been unfortunate enough to experience it. I tried to comfort Lisa the best ways I knew, but no man can heal this hurt. I had not touched a guitar in years but was inspired to write a song in memorial of Nathan. With help from a couple of friends and talented musicians, Rob G and Chris Otto, "Only God Knows" was recorded. More songs came and eventually we made a CD.
As we were completing this, my son Jason, took his own life at the age of 19. "Why us?" "What have we done to deserve this degree of pain?" The questions kept coming with no answers being supplied. As the tears flowed, more songs were being born. The CD, "Eternal Questions of the Unanswered Kind" is a memorial to my son, Jason. It is not your typical Christian CD. Instead, the message is "it is OK to hurt...it is OK to question God...it is even OK to be angry with God." Eventually, the only answer I have gotten is "only God knows." If we choose to believe in God, then eventually it is our faith in His nature and love that gives us the strength to go on.
I have just completed the final chapter in this "trilogy" of the journey that I, as well as many others have travelled. The CD "Inspired by Actual Events" is just that, songs that have been inpired by events in my life and in the ones I love. Despite the circumstances, we choose to press on. We are not the same persons that we once were, and after all is said and done, we do have more compassion, we do appreciate life and loved ones more. We do trust our God and believe that there is a purpose that we cannot understand and may never understand in this life.
All of the music is available to anyone. I have sent out many without charge and will continue to do so. However, because of the volume, I will now accept donations for those who would like to help with the cost of production and postage. That is not required, though. Feel free to request any of the CDs.

Since experiencing these tragedies, I have come into contact with many who are going through similar things. Please know that you can share your experiences and hurts here. If you have something that can help others, let me know and we can share it here. I can suggest books, websites, or support groups that have been a help to my wife and I. I want this to be an informative site and will work on this. Please give me suggestions so we can reach out to others. We must do a better job of prevention! If we can recognize the signs of suicide, maybe we can stop it! How much is a life worth? More than all of the wealth in the world, believe me!
