About Me

Moneypenny started out as a project band for Isaac Ellsworth. The music scene was rapidly changing and heading in several different directions as rock, indie, electronic, and folk music began to combine and churn out new sub-genres. Moneypenny was a much needed step away from all of this, back to the simplistic roots of melodic pop-punk.
During the summer of 2007, Isaac was asked to act as tour manager for the band New Year’s Day on the warped tour. It was there that he rediscovered his passion for the road and playing live music. After the tour, Isaac went back to the studio to record an EP. Recorded at Annex Studios in Draper, Utah, the EP was finished later that summer. It instantly began to receive attention from several radio stations and producers across the country.
He then quickly realized a band was a necessity and recruited guitarist Danny Wilson, bassist Jet Harper and drummer Joseph Arrington. The band experienced an instant cohesion due to similar musical backgrounds, while still bringing their own unique style and taste to redefine a sound that is bound to lodge itself firmly in your head.
2008 is going to be a big year for Moneypenny. The EP, titled Out of Time, is available independently through the artist and also on iTunes. The band was recently picked up by Kingdom Clothing, a forward-thinking clothing company based out of Salt Lake City, Utah. They have also teamed up and played benefit shows for PINK, Breast Cancer Research, and is working with Phoenix Alliance, a Utah based anti-tobacco program designed to help smokers quit.
Moneypenny is here to stay. The band is making new music that is a refreshing throwback to ten years ago when music was simpler and more fun to listen to. It’s destined to excite the sentiments of pop-punk fans of all ages. Moneypenny also aims to introduce the new generation to the sound they have not only been missing, but searching for. Moneypenny is on the rise.
