"The dichotomy of two parts classical whiz, one part rock frontman - completely exemplified by his attire of neat buttoned up waistcoat with pants falling halfway down his arse"

Introduction
After having a breif glance over this page last night and this morning, i
decided that it was probably time that i wrote a proper introduction, so here
goes...
This page was launched on 23rd July 2007. The idea origianlly came through
a discussion on The Elliot Minor
Forum with Phil when he suggested that some of us
should make individual fanpages for the band members. I wasn't keen on the
idea at first but after little persuasion, i gave in. The Appreciation Society
idea was actually jsut me messing about and thinking how hilarious it'd be
to have ADAS: The Alex Davies Appreciation Society, but when i started the page
i had no other name so it jsut kinda stuck! Since then i've worked on it loads
to try and make it as good as i can. The whole idea from the very beginning was
that this is a page for fans to get involved with and not just look at- so make
sure you go check out all the different pictures i have up and the blogs! I've
tried to make the page as interesting as possible and i hope you all like it!
So welcome to my page dedicated to...
the one...
the only...
the talented...
the gorgeous...
ALEX DAVIES!

Biography
All his life Alex has been very musical. From a young age he started learning how to play musical instruments such as
the piano and violin and listened to nothing but film and classical music. His vocal talent was developed through being a
chorister at York Minster Choir School.
This classical training continued for many years and Alex then moved to Uppingham public school in the Midlands where he boarded and
studied more classical music with dreams of playing the violin in an orchestra rather than being in a rock band. It was
there at Uppingham that he met fellow Elliot Minor founder Ed Minton. Ed then introduced Alex to rock music and played
him bands such as Green Day. In 2003 Alex got together with three friends to form a rock band called Give Or Take. The band then split up the following year. Not long after the demise of Give Or Take, Alex got together with Ed Minton to form an acoustic duo called The Academy. They started
writing music together, but they needed a drummer. Alex bumped into Dan by chance in 2005 when they were both picking up
younger brothers from the Minster school and from that chance meeting the band eventually became a 5-piece.
As the band started to get more serious, Alex took a gap year, eventually quitting his music course at Leeds Uni altogether to build a home studio called Mavehole Studios. It was here that the band started to record many demo songs and put together their demo album. They used myspace to promote themselves as much as possible. This led them eventually, in 2007 to sign a record contract. They are signed to American indie label Reposession Records and have a distribution deal with major label, Time Warner. The band then underwent a name change from The Academy to Elliot Minor and since then, Alex has been
thrust into the limelight as a driving force for the band and a bright young musician. Alex sings, plays guitar
and writes the bands' songs.
After initially being very nervous of how people would react to his unique mix of classical composition and rock music,
Alex has slowly become more confident and this has translated into their live performances where nowadays you will
regularly see him talking to and involving their audience in their shows.
Alex lives in York and has a pet dog called Molly- he also doesn't like bananas, or James Blunt!!!
