About Me
Chris Dabbo: Waterbury, CT based pianist, keyboardist, and songwriter, began studying piano at the age of 10 and sang in a number of school, church, and community choirs. In hopes to pursue a career as a concert pianist, Chris was accepted into the Manhattan School of Music Preperatory Division and later earned his Bachelor's Degree in music at the Hartt School of Music.During his classical studies throughout his teen years and early twenties, Chris became drawn to the piano playing styles of Elton John, Billy Joel, and Bruce Hornsby, and was developing a growing interest in the more popular genres of music. With that, he built upon his love to improvise at the piano and gained inspiration from the likes of artists such as Oscar Peterson, Keith Emerson, Jordan Rudess, Bill Evans, Chick Corea, and Brad Mehldau.Chris works as a piano instructor, church organist, and both a solo and group performing artist. His projects include "The Chris Dabbo Jazz Trio," "RJ Ruotolo & Speak No Evil," "Rubber City Blues Band," "Karmic Justice," "Pick Up the Pieces," and" Social Relapse." Other various credits include musical director at the Warner Theater in Torrington, CT for the production of "The King & I," the rock band "Naked Thursday," pit orchestra involvement for NVCC's production of both "Hair" and "Godspell," and "Footloose" at the Warner Theater.
