About Me
Alykai started out as a project originally by Tim Watson, one of the guitarists. He set out to find the most talented, music loving people to join him in one common goal, to make music for a living!! After a few months in 2007, Jon (Decay 1134), joined the band. Together, they set out to find a drummer, bassist, and vocalist. Having tried a few months with various singers, and one drummer, and no bassist, they recruited long time friend of the band, Alex to play drums. Next up was the task of finding a singer capable of giving Alykai a voice, pun intended! The trio started talking to Justin Williams, a solo artist. With the lineup almost rounded out, they started recording and writing more songs. While recording, they decided they now more than ever needed a bassist to put down the lows. By the grace of God, they got a message from Brian, a bassist. Now with a complete lineup, they started writing and recording. The band then started going in a different direction than originally planned. It was then decided, that Justins' vocals, just didnt match with the new style. Parting ways with Justin, on good terms, they started the search for a new vocalist, with Tim taking over backup vocals/screams. After searching, they found Kim, who has a very strong singing voice. With an ever growing fanbase online, they're preparing for shows in late summer, and early fall, and have many contacts in which to enter the music world as one of the greatest metal/hard rock acts in Northeast, MO.
The band is currently working more and more everyday to fulfill their dream so they can begin to play live, and turn their exotic blend of rock and metal, into a plethora of ears.
Upon first listening, many will be able to tell influences of the greats... from Pantera, to Korn, Slipknot, and many others, however... Many would be surprised that their influences range from Stevie Ray Vaughan, Van Halen, 311, All That Remains, Trivium, many classic rock artists, as well as even some death metal bands of today. All together, the band has found their own sound, which blends gut punching lyrics with soulful blows to the ears with melodies, riffs, and emotion, to bring an excellent blend of metal and hard rock into the mix.
"I REALLY LIKE your sound... You guys rock!!!"

"You guys practice 4-6 hours? Holy crap man! I don't see how you do it!!"
- Joel Ekman (original Stone Sour drummer and drummer for another AWESOME up and coming band, Isaac James )
