Birthed with purpose and pursuing prophetic destiny, Brother James Wesley Holcomb has committed the last eighteen years of his life to serving the Lord in a life of total consecration; reaching past the boundaries and limitations of denomination, culture and philosophy to make a lasting impact on those he comes in contact with. Born on Pentecost Sunday, May 27, 1984 to Pastor James W. and Lady Anita Louise Holcomb in Orange, New Jersey. From the very beginning the life of Brother Holcomb has been a progressing testimony of the preserving and delivering power of God. Established in a strong foundation of prayer and deep biblical study fostered by his parents, Brother Holcomb accepted the Lord Jesus as Savior at the tender age of 5. Since then the Lord has blessed and favored this young warrior to grow and excel not just in natural matters but most especially in the deep things of the Spirit.
Carrying a strong prophetic anointing, as a child Brother Holcomb would often be used of the Holy Ghost to bring forth the word of knowledge, word of wisdom and interpretation of tongues. After coming into the Church of God in Christ at the young age of 19, Brother Holcomb was led of the Lord to establish membership with the historic Smith Memorial Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Dr. Cornelius H. Evans. During the first fours at Smith Memorial, Brother Holcomb sat under the seasoned ministry of the late State Supervisor Mother Irene Tindell. It was from this tender "Mother-Son" relationship that Brother Holcomb received instruction on the ministry of prayer, deliverance and travail. After embarking on a series of fasts and consecrations Brother Holcomb's simple ministry of prayer and servitude was birthed forth.
The reputation of this young warrior in the Spirit goes before him and the Lord has blessed him to receive favor in the eyes of pastors, bishops and great men and women of God both near and far. The intensity of his consecrated life manifests itself in the words brought forth, the prayers offered and the service that is given. Even amongst the ranks of his own peers and generation he is known as one who can "get a prayer through". Holding fast to II Corinthians 4:1 as the central theme for his life in this season and hour, Brother James Holcomb presses forward into the divine destiny set before him and when greeted with the praise and acclaim of men he is fond for simply saying "Even the more, I am simply a servant".
