All my babies! For those of you who joined the Conservatory after 2004, let me share something with you. I was with the Asolo for four years and the Conservatory for 10. My love for my babies, though, has nothing to do with my job.I saw my first play when I was 12 years old. Ovens Auditorium - Charlotte, NC. Showboat with Pat O'brien as Cap'n Andy. When the Cotton Blossom came out on stage I felt like my life changed. I remember where I was sitting. I remember what I was wearing. And it's been a looonnngg time since I was 12 years old!It is one of my greatest joys and honors to follow your career and to see you grow as people and as actors. And nothing makes me happier than when I can, from time to time, lend a hand to connect you to grads who live in the area you are going after graduation - or to help find an apartment - or to get the word out about a show you're doing. My greatest desire is that someday you are in a show and there is a 12 year old in the audience whose life you change.Back in the day, I had all my babies' headshots on the wall in my office. And when I changed to a much smaller office, I reduced them and hung them like wallpaper border around the top of my wall. Seeing all those faces from across the years simply made me happy. And now, to see more and more of your faces on my virtual wall makes me happier still. How blessed I am that you all are in my life and that I still get to be the Mama Bear! I wonder whose wedding I get to perform next (I'm at nine going on ten when I marry Kris Danford and Sam Osheroff next June).
