Hi everybody, my name is Scully. I was rescued on March 17, 2007 by Flawdogs Adoption. Before that I lived the first nine years of my life in a puppy mill. I was in a very small cage and never knew love. I was never let out for exercise. I had no health care. My owner only wanted me for one reason and that was to make her money. My family and friends had to live in little cages too. We got jerked around and hit; and if we tried to escape while the door was open, it got slammed on us. My female friends and family were forced to have litter after litter of babies, until their little bodies wore out and they died. My owner did not take us to the vet if we were sick. If one of us died we got thrown on the trash pile and burned. We were so sad and scared all the time. Most of us gave up on life and was ready to die. Then the day came after nine long horrifying years, in deplorable conditions, that someone came and ended the nightmare. The nice people of Flawdogs Adoption saved us. It was St. Patrick’s Day and I have red hair so they gave me a great Irish name, Scully. They bathed me, cleaned my teeth and gave me my shots. They showed me lots of love, but I didn’t know what love was so I was still scared. They put me on their rescue sited to try and find me a real home.
It worked! My new mom saw me and thought I was too cute. She looked at lots of other dogs, but kept coming back to me. She called the lady named Sally that worked at Flaw Dogs Rescue in Missouri. Sally said they were going to have an adoption fair at Petco in Arnold, MO. and she would bring me. My new mom and dad drove from Herrin, IL. the next Sunday to see me. When they got there me and a friend of mine were in a baby playpen with a sign on it that read “Adoptedâ€. My new mom thought someone else had already adopted me. Mom got upset and told Sally she drove all the way from Southern IL. to get me and asked if I had already been adopted. Sally said “only if you take him home with you.†Sally put the sign up to hold me just for Mom. She adopted me that day; April 22, 2007.
On the way home, my mom saw the blank dead pan stare in my eyes and noticed I would not look at her. I was so scared. I did not know where I was going. All I could think was “Oh God, please don’t send me back to that horrible place!†We drove a long way and I shook the whole time. We finally got to my new home and my mom let me out to potty. She discovered I had no clue what grass long haired Chihuahua. I love you mom and dad; t youhank!
was. I would not even cross through a door or go down stairs. I really didn’t know anything; not even how to accept love.
I have since learned all kinds of new things and am still learning. I let my mom and dad love me now and I even love them back. I miss them when they are gone. When they come home I wiggle, bark, prance, wag my tail and flip all around until they pet me and say they love me. And they do tell me that; a lot! Also, I have two siblings. I have a big brother named Kato. He is a Pekinese. My little sister’s name is Blondie. She is a
long haired Chihuahua. I love you mom and dad; thank U Mom & Dad!
