Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Doug Yorke. I have recently come aboard at A&M/Octone Records as the new streetteam manager, a position that my very good friend Civia Caroline (whom you all know) has passed on to me.
A little about me, I have been a street team member for Octone Records for the past three years, focusing on Flyleaf, Dropping Daylight and Michael Tolcher and last year I was as an intern working along side Civia on the entire streetteam. If you got a swag package in the second half of last year, I sent it! If you talked to TeamOctone then, it was probably me! During the past few years I have gotten to know some of you and I am looking forward to getting to know more of you too.Rounding out the new team here is our intern Jess, whom some of you may have already met. She has been handling much of the streetteam prior to my arrival and will continue to work closely with myself and you all.The streetteams, no matter which one or more you are on, continue to be a huge part of what we do here at A&M/Octone and I hope you all realize the tremendous impact you've had and continue to have on the careers of all of these bands.
Your work has not and will never go unnoticed and is greatly appreciated.We have some enormous things coming in the next few weeks and months, bigger than I have ever seen come from the team. They range from small, hidden, exclusives from some bands possibly called the dark-red cinco and soar-petal to brand new ways to help promote and get involved in your town, at shows, online, behind the scenes and maybe even across some big bodies of water!!You should continue to send in your reports and requests through the streetteam site and they will go to myself and my partners who will help you out and maybe even send you bonus goodies! INTERN AT A&M/OCTONE
A&M/Octone Records is a New York City based record label focused on Rock and Pop/Rock genres. The label is distributed by Universal Music Group with a joint venture with Interscope Records and is the home to Maroon 5, Flyleaf, Dropping Daylight and many more developing artist. Headquartered in the SoHo neighborhood of NYC, we are consistently searching for enthusiastic interns dedicated to music and breaking developing artist. Internship responsibilities will vary from coordinating promotional mailings to administrative duties to developing A&R/Sales/Marketing research and plans.
All interns will receive work related to all departments to gain a fundamental instinct to record label operations as a whole and later will focus on their interest/goals in this internship - A&R, Marketing, Sales, Online, Publicity, Finance, Web design and more. Our goal at A&M/Octone is to ensure you walk away with experience not only in one department but in all areas. If this is you, we’re waiting for your resume! We love our interns to be around as much as possible whether its in our open office environment where you can hear everyone from the President to other interns work or outside the office at company outings. We are also sensitive to the student’s schedules therefore will gladly work around their availabilities.
