LITHURGY

About Me

Lithurgy is a band from Brighton who formed around 2004. After a succession of line-up and name changes the band settled and began writing new material in 2007.
The five members have come from a variety of musical backgrounds and together show a broad ability that combines the technical with the tasteful.
Inspired by bands from Meshuggah and Tool to Pink Floyd and Mahavishnu Orchestra, Lithurgy's music takes you on an atmospheric journey through powerful riffs, crushing grooves, and epic soundscapes, using odd time signatures, aggressive guitar tones and a two-pronged vocal assault. Their sound combines elements of thrash and death metal with progressive rock and fusion and is as melodic as it is brutal.
The quintet - Will Gardner (Vocals), Tom Humphrey (Vocals & Lead Guitar), Gazz Harwood (Guitar), Brian Thomas (Bass), Guillaume Croizon (Drums) - have shared stages across the South with many bands including: Textures, Centurion, Out Cry Fire, Lesbian, Church of Misery, Sourvein, Here There Be Monsters, Furyon, thedealwasforthediamond, and One Knuckle Fist.
Now armed with a three track EP, mastered by Ace (ex Skunk Anansie), and a set list boasting an arsenal of memorable tracks, Lithurgy are ready to step to the forefront of the underground music scene and bring their open minded approach to metal to the masses.
