Hertz Hybrides

Hertz Hybrides is a kind of weirdo excentric experimental project formed in 1985 in Joliette (Québec, Canada); and who has explored dada and pataphysic sides of art performances and musics from electroacoustic music to minimalist, ritualistic or what we could name “industrial” music. Hertz Hybrides got the heritage of musicians like Érik Satie, Edgar Varèse, Charles Ives, Olivier Messiaen, Pierre Henry, Pierre Schaeffer, John Cage, Claude Ballif, Luis de Pablo, Boris Blacher, Luigi Nono, Ivo Malec, also musicians as Terry Riley, John Cale, Nico, Brian Eno, Robert Fripp, Steve Reich, Meredith Monk, Laurie Anderson… and bands like Soft Machine, Cluster, Kraftwerk, the Residents… also from avant-garde, psychedelic, Krautrock or freewheeling improvisation…but mostly, Hertz Hybrides take its inspiration from aboriginal music. For some, Hertz Hybrides is considered as one of the most authentic humble experimental band in domain of noise exploration as other bands from the same wave as Haffler Trio, Coil, Nurse With Wounds, SPK, Throbbing Gristle, Zoviet France, Pacific 231, etc… Michael Zêdka and Sâr Kasimir were the only frequent recording companions from 1985 to now. Hertz Hybrides has worked with an ever-changing list of collaborators (Dr. Kitsh + Eddie Match + Stéphane Gabriel Morg (r.i.p.) + Circé Kâ (r.i.p) + Joe Nineti + Nathalie Baba + Karol Morvel Simoneau (see is artworks on : myspace.com/morvel) Hertz Hybrides's first recordings were only available on tapes. : "Jettatura" (1985), "Musicales Turbulences"(1986), "Musique de la Planète Terre" (1987), "0h00" (1987), « Voraces Vortex » (1987), "Deus ex Machina" (1988) From year of 1990, Zêdka will work with the “Dada Vrac Vacarme” (one of the most weirdo noisy musical experience). In 1997, Zêdka and Kasimîr re-tied for some new recording sessions : “Dedalus”(1994), “Transe-Mutation” (1997) But, once again, this recordings were only available on tapes, and not wide distributed. From 2003, it seems its time for Hertz Hybrides to make it easy to get and to hear.
