About Me

The band were formed back in the 90's by Adam Banks with Steve Barr. These two have always remained as the foundation of the band thru numerous line-ups. Formed at the height of the re-emergence of British guitar based bands, their 60's influenced style and songs were quickly recognised and noted around the midlands area. This led to the usual (non-profit making) pub/club circuit and recordings of their own songs finally resulting in gigs in Italy. You will still hear the mumblings of the band "we were big in Italy" and "we could have been contenders" even to this day !! Richard Green on lead guitar and drummer Simon Cartwright had now joined the band and notable gigs at the Robin and acoustic sessions at the old Ronnie Scott's in Birmingham followed before Rich left and Matt Burton was recruited. This line up of Adam, Steve, Simon and Matt has now become the longest serving four-piece for 7th Son.The band were now playing more gigs than ever including mod festivals in Southport but the gigging scene was changing and the band needed a new direction. Since 7th Son's style was very much 60's influenced it was an obvious choice to start doing the covers of the great British bands of the late 60's and early 70's (one or two of whom are thankfully still around), The Small Faces, Beatles, The Who, The Kinks, Rolling Stones and Pretty Things to name a few. But the songs the band wanted to do were not the obvious ones associated with these groups but ones which people would know but had probably not heard in a live environment. This has proved a great success and every show has led to return gigs with audiences and reputations growing . Check them out for yourself for a truly authentic, interesting and rocking night out.
