However, Diana is an extraordinary R&B artist who possesses every last one of those qualities.Diana, who was born in the Bronx, discovered the art of singing and song writing, while watching an older girl rehearse for a performance. She was 4 years old at the time and even at that young age knew singing was her calling, so she snatched the microphone from the girl and astonished all in attendance by her “beyond-her-years” voice. It was obvious to all that Diana was gifted, but at this early age she had not yet found her true voice and it would be years before she would. At the age of 7, her form of expression changed a little as she discover a love for the written word. Diana experimented by writing her first children’s novel and complimented that by also writing poetry that reflected her personal experiences and the world around her. By the time she reached her tenth birthday, she was winning awards for her writing and by eleven, her work was published for the first time. Diana loved writing, so it was only natural (since singing was such a part of her) that she would use those talents to start writing and structuring songs. Her family and friends couldn’t believe how easily she took to it. Diana would tell them that she could listen to the same music instrumentals as anyone else but in her mind what she would hear would be a completely finished song with melodies, lyrics, vocals overlapping and harmonizing through verses and b-sections of the song. She knew it was a gift and didn’t take it for granted. Her parents instilled in her the importance of a good work ethic and Diana lived by that. She knew that it was going to take more then being able to sing to make it in the music business, so when she was able to buy recording equipment after working several part-time jobs during High School, she began to study the art of producing and recording music. It didn’t take her long to master it and before long she was recording her original songs for her family and friends to hear. Needless to say they were blown away. Even for an amateur set up, Diana managed to get the most out of it and in some cases produced product that was better then some of the professionally recorded demos floating around. Diana’s father, who saw the merit of her work, began taking her demos to who ever he could get it to. He dropped it off to Labels and celebrated artists, but most went un-listened to. Two major labels, who did take the time to listen, put asterisks next to her name and commented that they were looking for that "one hit record" and when she had it, she could return for a listening. Diana was a little discouraged, but not enough to slow her down. It actually inspired her to work harder.Although Diana soon became the talk of the town in her neighborhood, it was her Myspace Page that started to bring her the recognition she desired. Her fan based was considered one of the fastest growing fan bases on the site with over 20,000 views in just a few months time. Her page has also attracted the interests of celebrity songwriters, producers, artists, managers and labels. Many industry insiders compared her to a young Mariah Carey. Diana, who has recorded at the world famous Sony Studios, is currently in talks with several Major Record labels as she continues to write and record songs that she believes will leave a lasting mark on the music loving community.Contact: Maurice Woodson 347-332-4505 Nomad Entertainment Management/OAR [email protected] www.myspace.com/nomadentertainmentmanagement
