About Me

3 loves: Jesus, math, art.

My Interests

books - reading them, making them, hoarding them like Smague. cooking beautiful food, eating beautiful food. Thrift stores, stage combat, theatre (onstage and off), music, art, dancing (salsa!!!), making things - artsy, craftsy, anything. foreign culture and travel. many more....

I'd like to meet:

Bibliophiles, foodies, harpists, people who love art and math! Praguers and Parisiennes, pastry chefs, tree huggers and nature lovers, people who know what I mean when I say "my heart is in the mountains". People who worship God with outstretched arms and no holding back. People who live!

Music:

Mostly jazz and classical. I'm particularily fond of Ralph Vaughn Williams and Joaquin Rodrigo on the classical side. For jazz I love Miles Davis and Gil Evan's Sketches of Spain, and the Buena Vista Social Club (not really jazz, but oh well....). Benny Goodman and Charles Mingus are also quite excellent. and harp music, I like harp music! Salzedo is probably my favorite composer for harp (I think Chansons Dans La Nuit is my favorite piece to play...) hhmmm...I like Irving Berlin, especially "I love a piano" - because I do! Debussy, Schubert, and Schumann are excellent piano composers, and Ginastera! If I were cool (read: html literate, or something) I would include pictures of my instruments here. But i'm not. so there are no pictures....

Movies:

hhmm..... Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, My Neighbor Totoro, Pride and Prejudice (BBC!!), anything Jackie Chan, Wallace and Grommit, Spidey and Xmen, Princess Bride

Television:

My house hasn't really had a tv since 1986.... but when i get a chance: X-Files and The Simpsons!!

Books:

Beowulf (esp. Seamus Heany!), Pride and Prejudice, the Brontes, Harry Potter, C.S. Lewis (Screwtape letters - so awesome!), most Russian authors (The Gulag Archipeligo is mind - blowing....), Tolkien, Lord Peter Wimsey, etc etc etc.... really just about anything that's printed matter. Favorite Cookbook: The Pie and Pastry Bible (mmmm....) Current Reading : a book on Hundertwasser, "The First Circle" by Solzhenitsyn and "The Neibelungenlied"
