She definitely can translate music with her big, beautiful, and emotional voice. Amanda Lugo is music's next big thing but the problem is she hasn't been discovered. Now when first spoken to she considers herself an artist and not just a singer. " When I first sang on stage, I felt that feeling, that passion, run all through my body and since then I've always had a love for music, whether I'm singing it or not." Amanda is known to combined the old voices such as Julie Andrews and Sarah Brightman with new sounds and beats such as Christina Aguilera and Fergie. "Her style is one I have not come across until now when she first sang me a song called 'Mercy on Me'. From then I knew she'd go somewhere." says Yvette Waters, her mother. Not only has this young girl inspired and moved her family but also her friends. Her friend Alyssa says,"When Amanda was in choir, she would get picked on by the other kids because her voice was so loud it would stand out and go over their voices. Sooner or later, the choir teacher Mrs. Williamson gave Amanda her first solo." Yes Amanda voice was so big it got her many solos in her days of choir. Amanda also was given leads in many of her school's musicals. "I remember in kindergarden I was give the lead of Cinderella. In the end of the play there was a solo song for me. I sung it and nailed it. I got so many boquets of flowers that night." Amanda said.
