About Me

Fuck the 'me' description. Because I don't know exactly who I am. It depends on the moment or the person or people I'm with. Or it depends on the decisions I am making or the moment that I am remembering. I'm very mercurial; changeable with temperament. I am growing and changing, every second of everyday. I'm not volatile. I'm just learning to hang on and let go and still keep my sanity. I'm realizing how amazing it is to be in love. I abhor that doubt and jealousy can eat me whole. I'm learning to accept that people in my life will come and go. I am learning that ideals cannot always translate into actions, and that sometimes what it comes down to is developing ways of life that can work, not ways that should work. It's all hard for me to face, but I'm working on that.

Larry: "She doesn't want to be happy." Dan: "Everybody wants to be happy." Larry: "Depressives don't. They want to be unhappy to confirm they're depressed. If they were happy they couldn't be depressed anymore. They'd have to go out into the world and live. Which can be depressing."
Alice: "Where is this love? I can't see it, I can't touch it. I can't feel it. I can hear it. I can hear some words, but I can't do anything with your easy words."
Larry: "I know who you are. I love you. I love everything about you that hurts."
Ramón Sampedro: "When you can't escape, and you constantly rely on everyone else, you learn to cry by smiling, you know?"
Andrew: "We may not be as happy as you always dreamed we would be, but, for for the first time let's just allow ourselves to be whatever it is that we are."
Sam: "What do you do? You laugh, you know? I'm not saying I don't cry. But in-between, I laugh, and I realize how silly it is to take anything too seriously."
Sam: "You gotta hear this one song, it'll change your life I swear."
Life consists of facts, and facts are of two kinds: Boring and Crucial. A Boring Fact is virtually any fact that doesn't concern you. Or it's just trivial, a nothing fact. (Like the annual rainfall in, let's say, Bolivia. Crucial to the Bolivians, but Boring to everyone else.) I know the Crucial Facts of Ugly Girl's life are Boring Facts to others. Yet, to Ugly Girl, they are Crucial. There's one test of a Crucial Fact: It hurts."
"I'm sick of just liking people. I wish to God I could meet somebody I could respect."
"Everything everybody does is so—I don't know—not wrong, or even mean, or even stupid necessarily. But just so tiny and meaningless and—sad-making. And the worst part is, if you go bohemian or something crazy like that, you're conforming just as much as everybody else, only in a different way."
Ayn Rand: "There's nothing as significant as a human face. Nor as eloquent. We can never really know another person, except by our first glance at him. Because, in that glance, we know everything. Even though we're not always wise enough to unravel the knowledge...I think...that every human soul has a style of its own, also. It's one basic theme. You'll see it reflected in every thought, every act, every wish of that person. The one absolute, the one imperative in that living creature. Years of studying a man won't give it to you. His face will. You'd have to write volumes to describe a person. Think of his face. You need nothing else."
