I started out in Bluegrass, playing upright bass in a band when i was twelve years old. From there, I picked up mandolin and focused on lead vocals. I then picked up banjo and continued as my family bands lead singer.
I have been the front woman of a band since i was fifteen, and used that time to complete my entertainment package.
I have played with three bands during my musical career. The first (12-14 yrs of age) with The Red Rock Mountain Boys. Secondly (from 14-23) with the Lampkins Family band. Finally, i played with the Brothers Barton and Overdrive out of Bakersfield CA.
The Lampkins Family band and Brothers Barton and Overdrive won a the Bluegrass National Playoffs at the Huck Finn Bluegrass festival; gaining the opportunity to showcase at IBMA.
I kicked off my solo career by placing number 11 on Nashville Star this past season.
While in Nashville, I have played with some amazing pickers and vocalists, including Gail Davies, Chris Scruggs, Megan McCormick, and Conor Lynch.
