I grew up in Lilburn, GA. went to Parkview High School. Received the name Shoney in Middle School. Played Football at Vanderbilt University. Injured my Freshman Year and Started Playing in the Band Friction Cowboy. We played all over the Southeast for 2 years and got to hang out with many artist and bands (Hootie and the Blowfish, Dave Mathews Band, Living Color, Crosby Stills and Nash., Metallica, Alice N Chains etc.) in Nashville. After college I moved back to Atlanta and was the Front Man for an all original band Lloyd Ruby Luck. Then to Athens GA. and met many amazing people/musicians. Producer J. Pittman of the 6 time Grammy Nominated Shop Boyz played in the Band Chanel 46. We rehearsed in an old warehouse in Athens with a couple of other bands one of them being Hano from Rehab and hung out with Mike Hartnett from Rehab. I remember the first time I heard Mike play at our Apartment at Applebee Muse and was blown away. I also played with Karl West Bolz in Adam's Orange, one of the most well rounded musicians I have ever played with. He is currently in the band "Eta Carina" and guitar guru on youtube. (See My Blog). Then went back to ATL to be a guitarist in an Atlanta band called Sprout. We recorded an album in Collective Soul's studio and I never got a copy. If any of you guys in Sprout have a copy please let me know. I then moved to Athens and started 40 Acres with the locals we played at GA Theatre, 40 Watt, 1st band to play at tasty world, many intimate sets at DT's Down Under and other places that I can not remember. Then back to Atlanta to play in the Atlanta Band Eden with former guitarist Sean Lay (of the band COLD and currently Guitarist for the Next new big band to hit the Atlanta Scene CITIZEN ICON) and front man singer songwriter Garrett Freireich who is currently rocking the scene in Atlanta. Lately I have been working with Graham Culbreth from Lloyd Ruby luck, Channel 46, Adam's Orange and The Hill (96 rock band of the year) on the BSG Project. BSG project stands for Big Shoney and Graham. We have been playing together for about 12 years. The tunes on this page are rough mixes of songs we put together over the years and recorded at my house. We are currently working on a full Album that will be released summer of 2008. We enjoy our fans hearing the process. We post practice sessions, mess ups, raw mixes etc. We plan on touring this summer and we will keep everyone of you informed on the good times to come. I have two beautiful boys named Kaleb and Ethan and they are truly gifts from God and future Rockers. I just hope they will let me sit in with their band when they get older.
