About Me

When Brooke walks into a room – she commands and captivates everyone in it. Partially because of her stunning looks but mostly for her swag. Brooke learned at an early age as an only child that she would have to entertain herself, little did she know in the process she would also entertain others. Her story unfolds much like her intricate tattoos that graciously adore her body – intricate and complicated. Beautiful with an edge – she is not a prissy girl. She beats to her own drum.
Growing up in Baltimore, MD Brooke was exposed to the best and worst of city life. The city would provide Brooke a passion for culture, music, and the outdoors. She would provide the city with free entertainment. To pass time, Brooke would sit and play her guitar for the people on the ferrys passing by. She would listen to the radio and teach herself how to play her favorite songs on the piano and guitar (electric and acoustic).
Brooke attended Catholic elementary school, public middle school, and a private high school. She went from fighting the mean streets of Baltimore’s southwest side on public transportation to being dropped off in the car pool lane with Baltimore’s elite. The diversity of her background would allow Brooke a very diverse view of people and life – but most importantly a confidence in herself that she carries with her today.
During her youth, if she wasn’t attending a baseball game at Oriole Park she was participating in sports herself. Brooke was a cheerleader in middle school and ran track, cross country, and played basketball in High School. By the time she enrolled to Syracuse University with a major in Television and Film Production and a minor in the Music Industry, she left sports behind. She joined a band called Ecclectic Soul and became a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Immediately out of college Brooke moved to New York City to pursue a career in television. Brooke took a bite out of the big apple and was hooked. The city was fast paced, edgy, and unfamiliar – a perfect match for Brooke’s personality. Working as a bartender at night exposed Brooke to the exciting nightlife of NYC that she grew to love. During the day Brooke would temp at TV and Film powerhouses like Miramax, CBS, and eventually her permanent home at Viacom. Brooke landed her first permanent career opportunity as the Executive Assistant to the EVP of MTV News, Documentaries, and Specials. She would later become the Series Associate Producer for the Emmy nominated series, True Life.
A co-worker at MTV thought Brooke had an interesting story to tell. The concept was to profile young, urban, working socialites from various backgrounds. Brooke was asked to shoot the pilot as one of the cast members - she agreed. In the spring of 2009 - eight young, attractive, working professionals debuted the reality show we know as “Harlem Heights” on BET Networks. The show allowed Brooke to tell her story and show the world who she was on her own terms. Brooke plans to continue to tell her story as a prequel to Harlem Heights with her best friend Briana in a book titled Faded & Jaded, Vol.1 which will chronicle their friendship, trials, and tribulations by sharing intimate diary entries and e-mails literally from the first day they met. Harlem Heights and Brooke’s forthcoming book are just a few ways she has introduced herself to the world. No longer a behind the scenes girl, Brooke plans to stay in front of the camera for a long time – stay tuned.
