A native of Cleveland, Ohio, multi-instrumentalist Alex Fencl records under the moniker Probably My Son. In the late 00s, Fencl wrote, recorded, and performed with the Columbus, OH-based punk band, Happy Campers (myspace.com/happyhappycampers) and has released five solo albums under that same name since 1999.
After the announcement of the ‘Campers indefinite hiatus, Fencl returned to the experimental pop format he has been accustomed to working in since the late 90s and decided to change names, going under the current Probably My Son title, which was taken from a line in Wes Anderson's 2004 film "The Life Aquatic."
Fencl's latest LP is called "Good Morning, Hummingbird!" It was released in early 2008 and was recorded in Cleveland, OH, Columbus, OH, and Reykjavik, Iceland.
Currently, Fencl is looking to put together North American, European, Kiwi and Aussie tour dates to promote "Hummingbird!"
Fencl is currently working on new material, recording in places like Prague, Christchurch, Salzburg, Munich, Auckland, Dallas and Cleveland. It is coming together and new songs will be posted. Fencl relocated to Dallas, Texas in February of 2009 and is currently based there.
