Teresa Vega“If I can describe myself in a few words, Strong would be one of them. I know what I want, and I’m willing to go after it. I believe one should push beyond your comfort zone in order to reach new heights,” says Teresa. Teresa is very well known for her highly approachable personality. She is an elegant, fashionable, Knowledgeable, realistic, confident, determined, affectionate, and let’s not for get her inner and outer Latin Beauty. Teresa is a remarkably talented Young Latina.Teresa is currently employed for an International Entertainment Communications Company; while she continues to finish her college degree majoring in Broadcasting/Communications.She recently made a debut on CNN Latino On October 2008, discussing the role Latinos will make in the 2008 elections. When it comes to elections she’s on point she also worked with Fernando Ferrer back in 2001 who was the first Puerto Rican running for mayor.Teresa also made a debut on the Time Warner 2009 Calendar; which is the company’s first calendar ever. You can catch her at the Press Conference that will broadcast on NY1 in early January 2009.She also has been chosen as the 1 Young Latina from Brooklyn to represent Grace Institute (business school) on a live interview which will broadcast on television in early 2009. She will be discussing her experience at Grace and why she recommends more women to attend Grace Institute. She graduated in February 2008 and returned to college to continue what she started in 2004. She is pursuing a career in the Broadcasting/Communications Field whether it is on the scene or behind the scene.

Teresa is a writer who has written a movie script, and a tremendous amount of songs. “I enjoy writing about personal experiences as well as experiences of my loved ones and just situations that come to mind. There’s nothing like writing from the heart, something you have actually experienced,” says Teresa. She has also worked on recordings and has a current project for 2009 she also continues to be in her church choir for more than 10 yrs. Teresa will be working on commercial work for 2009 as well. She also intended to get a license to be a hairstylist / make-up artist but than stayed in college. She has stated in the future she will look into this a little more as for now it’s just a hobby. Other hobbies include Salsa dancing, “I always wanted to be a salsa instructor, when I go out dancing and a salsa song plays it’s like oh oh clear the dance floor please,” says Teresa. Although she considers herself very modern and liberated, but like her old fashion mother she’s addicted to listening to classical Latin music, salsa and balada by Hector Lavoe, Willie Colon, Ray Barreto, La Lupe, Eddie Palmieri, Ismael Miranda, and so on, these are musicians who grew up with her mom and started there music career in her uncles club in the L.E.S, 80 Clinton. Teresa also is addicted to telenovelas but she says it has to be more like a shoot-‘em-up story for example her favorite novellas are La Vuida De Blanco, Sin Senos No Hay Paraiso and El Cartel which have been the highest rated shows on television. “I mean who can resist Manolo Cardona, Juan Diego Sanchez, and Gregorio Pernia. I mean I have yet to meet a man like these, Lol.”I’m not a violent person I think women hitting each other is LOW CLASS, and it looks ridiculous and stupid. But I definitely will defend myself if I had to believe that. I love gangster movies like Dog day afternoon, Scarface, Heat, and boxing movies with Tony Plana. But yes I have my soft side so I love the classic tales as well like West side Story I can watch that over and over again.Teresa’s parents Olga Iris Vega and Robert Hernandez, both Puerto Ricans raised in the Lower East Side of Manhattan in the 1960’s. Mom who is a single parent who always taught Teresa her Puerto Rican traditions and family values and has consistently reminded Teresa how important it is to have a college education like everyone else in the family, who have become teachers, lawyers, cops, musicians, and the list goes on. Olga struggled to give Teresa a good life.No me falto nada thanks to mom and off course my aunts I have to admit I was kind off spoiled. I always had the latest gear, toys, Barbie dolls, oh and the collectables Lil Miss make up, Miss dress up, wow I really use to love them dolls. But most important I always had a meal on the table. I really appreciate everything my mom has done for me. She even gave up her career to stay at a local job to be near me while I was in school. Even before I was born she had to struggle to help my abuela. Although she was chosen by La Prensa to be Miss Puerto Rico and to play many parts in the old classical movies that were always being filmed in the L.E.S etc, unfortunately since she was the oldest of 11 children she had to help abuela who was raising the family on her own. Because of all these downfalls in my mom’s life I feel I have to make up for it I have to make it to the top to make her proud of me. Therefore I’m not letting anything get in my way, no ones negativity and absolutely no man. My mom who is a practicing catholic has always made me realize how important it is to have a relationship with god. He is the number one person that can help you get through your problems rather it’s an emotional or financial crisis. Reach out to him with faith and I guarantee he’ll help. The Brooklyn Born Young Latina is also known to be a party girl. “Lol, Yes I am a party girl, I’ve been partying / clubbing since a very young age consider me a VETERAN in the club scene and let’s just say I hit up my first club when I entered Richmond Hill High School in the ninth grade at about the age of 14 yup it was Casa Latina, with DJ Chino on the turn tables doing his thing. A friend of mine worked at the club and took me and my friends on the weekends. Since then it was on,” says Teresa. This has led Teresa Vega to meet many people from various industries. She has attended a numerous amount of concerts, music videos, private shows for major artists, and high profile events such as the GQ awards after party, and the first Latin Grammy’s to take place in New York City, thanks to her friend Carlos El promotor numero uno de Puerto Rico. She then started promoting parties. And now she has started *StarNight* Entertainment and has decided to partner with her friend Eve, internationally known as Star*face. “No that’s not where the name *StarNight* Ent came from it is a name I came up with because I wanted something simple that people can remember at the door.
