About Me

I'm neither a jazz nor a rock'n'roll guitar player. I'm neither fish nor flesh, with that strange sounding flavor on my strings.

Together with Dave de Jong and Gabriele Mastroianni, I started Zooxantelle in 2006: a soul-jazz project born around some compositions of mine. MMW, Stanton Moore, Charlie Hunter Trio... (making no mention of the 60's roots of the genre) gave us terms of reference and flashes of inspiration. A bunch of studio takes was released in Jan 2007 in the compilation Guardo dentro.

In 2008 Dave was replaced by Janko Giovannini and Antonio Masoni joined the band too, putting some organ groove on the twang. The new line-up made Zooxantelle's sound grown up and effective. We're working on our first official record release: Chianti Boogaloo.

In 2006 I definitely joined The Strange Flowers , after a first collaboration in the late 80s. Maybe one of the oldest (and, let me say, most famous) psychedelic-garage bands in the old Europe.

My favourite musicians today: Stanton Moore, Will Bernard, MMW, Larry Goldings, Karl Denson, Charlie Hunter, Bill Frisell, John Scofield... My favourite rock band today: The Greenhornes. My dream in a closet today: to replace Adam Levy in the Norah Jones band :)
