Hi Hon!

About Me

I live in B-more but manage to get down to DC a lot and try to travel internationally whenever I can. I teach college biology, love the outdoors (thinking about picking up rockclimbing again after a 15 year hiatus), love the mixture of cultures that is untique to the DC area and I love to paint (landscape and figure in oils; see other photos for a sampling of my art). I'm looking for cool people to hang out with in the DC/B-more area.

I edited my profile with Thomas’ Myspace Editor V3.6 !

My Interests

I like the following (in no particular order): indie film, documentaries, live music, vintage hats, painting/art, good coffee, ethnic food, rockclimbing, antique sports cars, midcentury design, a simple Japanese garden, caiprinhias, samba and my colony of Madagascarian Hissing Cockroaches.Favorite travel spots: Brazil, Peru, Ecuador, Argentina, Bolivia, Thailand, Sardinia. Leaving for Cambodia and Laos in Decmeber.

I'd like to meet:

Anyone who did not vote for W. Inteligent people, scientists, artists, people with a pasion for life. Those who try to change the world for the better; people who like to dance (even if they suck); philosphers and thinkers. People who have enriched their life with travel.

Music:

Spelling could be an issue here. Anyways, current favorites include: We Are Scientists, Faint, Interpol, Pixies, Sonic Youth, Cocteau Twins, Smiths, Stills, Arcade Fire, Siouxsie, Depeche Mode, Bloc Party, Queens of the Stone Age, ELECTRIC SIX, She Wants Revenge, Broken Social Scene

Movies:

Tend to like arthouse, indie, documentary filmaking as well as foriegn film. Also suspense & horror films. Some favorites include: Requiem for a Dream, Secretary, Welcome to the Dollhouse, 28 Days Later, Happiness, I Shot Andy Warhol, The Shinning, Lives of Others (new German film; highly recomended), Napolian Dynamyte. I also like the occasional hollywood blockbuster (saw Terminator for the first time a few months ago (I know, SHOCKING!) and really liked it!

Television:

Don't watch much tv, although I love Discovery Channel. On occasion, mindless reality t.v.--America's Next Top Model is shallow yet addictive. I prefer Suduko to t.v.

Books:

The Kite Runner, Running with Scissors. Did I mention I like running?

Heroes:

Rachel Carson, E.O. Wilson, Ghandi, Marin Luther King, Holden Caufield, Tom Thompson, R. Diebencorn
