Sit with me a little bit as we take this trip
into the idiosyncrasy of my mind
Their came a time when all I thought was be yourself
and you can work to get what you need
But life isn't always as simple as it seems
People lie, cheat, steal, prefer the arms of an abusive lover
Few friends I can count on, but those I can are their for life.
I try to move through the world as a man
basing his life on an ever veering line of god and kharma
but it seems to me that the world nowadays doesn't want a guy
who stands for truth, justice, and the american way
that's alright I tell myself often, "I'm not going to be"
"What a person would like me to be, i'm simply me"
"Take me for what I am or don't take me at all please"
If you think you can push, prod, and mold a man of my perceptions
be my guest but try it on someone else
I often find myself wondering what the hell alot of my peers are thinking
"Oh she loves me", "oh he loves me", "I mean I know I have to ask them"
"If it's alright to speak with you", "walk with you", "stand next to you"
"but it's all because they love me and I love them..."
"Their not bad trust me they'll change", or "I like it", "it wasn't always this way"
When my friend has my back, they have my back no matter what I've done
It's unconditional, totally loyal, reciprocated and sometimes maybe the center of puns
but that's the way it should be, this fricking place I see around me is falling to pieces
People hand each other the knife with a smile and say "have at it my boy!"
Youre comraderie stands untill the next set of legs walks past
or that green greed glow shine bright in yours or someone elses eyes
So what if he got what you want or she went with the abuser, lifes too short
Take it with a grain of sand, wash these deeds off your hands
These things aren't worth it man
If your one of those people, please step away and analyze your life
The things I preach, the things I speak against....don't they seem to make sense?
If you can't grasp the communiqué i've just displayed.../
