I can have it all
Roberto has toured extensively in the last few years across Europe as a guitarist for the artist 'Baz'. As a duo, in 2004 they opened in Paris for Blondie's re-union tour. He also accompanied the singer on acoustic guitar on the UK radio tour, performing live in front of millions of listeners. With the full band they have played in excess of 25,000 people in the year 2003 as support for Sophie E. Bextor, and shared bills with the likes of James Brown.
In the year 2000 Roberto took part in the recording of Baz's debut album: produced by Guy Sigsworth (Bjork, Madonna, B. Spears etc.), Roberto supplied all the guitars and bass. Albeit having come into the project late during its development, Roberto’s songwriting skills were soon exploited. Consequently, Baz-Rob’s new songs ended up replacing half of the existing music on the album and the source of the first three singles!
The song 'Smile to Shine', co-written by Roberto, was a top ten entry in both the dance and the Indie official UK charts. A Dance remix of the song was a number one in Australia for six weeks! The other single, 'Believers', reached top 40 in the singles national charts and top 10 in the dance one.
Roberto’s career goes back many a year... Well, a quick one. Lived for most of his adult life in the UK, collaborating under various guises (guitarist, bass and keyboard player, writer, singer, sound engineer, etc.) with the well known (Vangelis, Ola, Baz, Terri Walker, etc.) and the less known.
Nowadays he is busy songwriting both for his own catalogue and with other artists. He presents his music under the ‘Fragile’ umbrella. He has a catalogue of over 100 songs ranging from pop, dance, rock, jazz, easy listening, to theatre. He is a voting fellow of the PRS-MCPS society.
