For 10 years we have served the Pensacola and surrounding areas with the help in rescueing unwanted cats and kittens. When no other shelter or rescue center would open their doors, we were always available. However, August 17, 2007 we were forced to shut down our shelter and relinquish our name, Forgotten Felines of Pensacola.
Many of our friends have helped spread the word around town, which led to many adoptions to lower our number of cats available. We successfully adopted out 60 cats with only 3 returned back to us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support, donations and adoptions.
Since our shelter has closed down, the many cats that still haven’t found homes have been transported to our home. The size of the house is about ¼ of the size of the shelter and we have to deal with much more madness then before. It is wall-to-wall fur in the house, not much for walking around in. The demand for cleaning has multiplied and we have become clueless of how we can make any expansions in our home so that the cats have more room to spread out and have the house available for any potential adopters to come by. Our funds have literally been drained from the whole ordeal with the county and closing of our shelter that we are having severe financial difficulties in keeping up with the large number of cats left for adoptions. If you live near by and can donate items for our expansion, we could use some of the following:
Blankets
Paper Towels
Zip lock bags (freezer type or bigger)
Cat Litter
Please remember: We are NOT licensed as a non-profit organization. We cannot give tax exemptions. All we can give is our gratitude.
