Midgar are a 5 piece rock band from Guildford. The band was put together with the intention of producing good, heavy rock music fronted by catchy hooks and rich classical harmony. It is this fusion of aggression and beauty that allows Midgar to create a sound unlike any other band on the UK circuit today. All from very established musical backgrounds (including multiple live MTV1/2/HITS performances, big label tours etc) the individual members of Midgar came together to make music they really love; finding the elusive middle ground between displaying technical proficiency and writing great songs that people can relate to.
Their first venture involved heading into the studio with Jason Wilcock (Fightstar/Reuben/YMA6) to produce their debut EP, “Of The Ancientsâ€. Nine months or so later the CD is now available for purchase and has already been received to immense acclaim. The band have seen a number of successes through 2008 including playing at the Camden Underworld, hosting a particularly hectic sold out EP release show, and countless sold out shows at some of the best venues up and down the country. They now plan on building on this success by touring relentlessly throughout 2009, showing audiences it really is possible for a young, unsigned band to sound great on record; and even better live.
