About Me

I am a songwriter/producer/artist/ and music enthusiast. I started out as the guitarist for the San Francisco post punk outfit The Lifers. Later I replaced Kurt Herr in Wire Train. When Wire Train broke up, I joined the UK band World Party and moved to London for a short time. I played on their critically acclaimed cult classic album "Goodbye Jumbo". Then in the early nineties I met Sheryl Crow and eventually went on to write, play, tour and produce some of her best known hits. In the late nineties I bought a house in the NW hills of Portland Oregon. Recorded and produced my first solo album "Dig Up The Astroturf" with Portland's own electronic whiz kid Keith Schreiner. Over the years I've worked with a myriad of artists like Aimee Mann, Marc Broussard, Rob Thomas, Jem, Stevie Nicks, Guster, Fastball, Pete Droge, Martha Wainwright, Robert Randolph, Natasha Bedingfield, Dada, Dahlia, Pink Martini, Jeremy Toback, Griffin House, Adrienne Pierce, Shotgun Honeymoon, Tommy Stinson. Currently I reside in Manhattan Beach where I have a recording studio with a view of the ocean. I'm also an advocate for the ethical treatment of the blue-footed boobie and surf when I can.

Live gigs

You'll probably notice that I'm starting to get out and play live. I think I'm long overdue and I'm feeling pretty jazzed about it. Next step is to do my own shows. Ha!
