Band Members: it's just me and my producer, composing and recording, I am hoping to create an album one day. My producer has been such a big help and a great supporter. He worked with me as a music instructor, and mentor for years and now he has been producing my songs for quite some time now:-)
I am also studying in the U.S and have for the past 3/4 years if not longer, and I am hoping to live in the United States in the future.
There have been allot of new changes regarding my music, and what path it has taken and how the word COLLABORATION has become of such importance to me; it's intimate, beautiful and so unique, and it has been such an amazing journey collaborating with many wonderful musician's.
For a long time it has just been me bringing my own original material to record in the studio, which would often be me playing keyboards, my producer on drums, bass and guitar, but now I have brought in extraordinary friends of mine into the studio to record OUR SONGS. The two songs that are on my, myspace page are songs that I have written with other people; the first song that is on there is called (I Remember) and Eamon is on guitar, my producer added drums and bass. Eamon is such a beautiful guitar player!! and we have written some amazing material together and we are still writing.
I don't play guitar:-( but I've discovered that someone could be playing something beautifully on guitar and I would create a melody out of no were, than I would come up with lyrics and bring the piece together. (Hone Bee) I wrote with a friend of mine named Gina, she also plays guitar and I love the stuff that we create together, the bass part that is being played in the piece she has created, and I so appreciate her ability to do what she does, and I love her creativity and sound. The guitar solo's and drums my producer added to the piece.
I have fallen so in love with the art of Collaboration, it is something that I truly see myself doing with allot of different musician's, I can see myself working, and even writing music with even the most famous bands in the world, it also will give me the chance to get amazing opportunity's, and the chance for my dream to become a reality. Since I have been collaborating, and bringing my work to the studio, it has changed my world of music so much.
Writing songs with other people, and pushing the work out there has been so incredible.
Hears an example; lets say I'm working with someone who is big in the industry and I'm not in a band with them but we end up writing an album together and it sells big time, and this is an example of what I see happening in my life, I don't really see myself in a band, I see myself working with other people and writing with them, there was a point were I did see myself wanting to form a band but than that wouldn't be my path, my vision, my dream:-( so collaborating has become a huge part of my work for sometime now, I do on my own time compose my own personal work which I have just been recently working on that I have composed and I'm on vocals, and keyboards, that piece is called (Fall For You) and it's got a nice funky vibe to it, so I'm still working on it; but for right now I have been mainly focussing on my side projects with other people because I am truly enjoying the outcome of it and I believe in it's potential, my producer is even sending songs that I have written with other people out to different agencies and of course some of my own original material.
Influences: mostly and always the Red Hot Chili Peppers, I wouldn't be doing what I'm doing if it weren't for them.
Also John Frusciante I think that he is such a BRILIANT and gifted songwriter. Also Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Courtney Love I think that she is a really good musician I like her stuff. and Fiona Apple, and also the group Chicago.
Sounds Like: I like to take in alot of what I've learned from my influences but make it my own..........I don't like to sound like other people but be proud of how much they've influenced me and taught me by studying their harmonies and styles, I like that about them.I'd rather be ME and sound like myself, and be proud of what I've learned and accomplished from my idols.
