About Me

{Bibelot n. (pr. Bee-bu-loh) - definition: those things in life you don't necessarily need but if you have them it makes it so much more interesting; a small object of curiosity, beauty, or rarity…a finely crafted book, a work of art without practical utility }
Bibelots are a UK indie rock band formed in 2008 in East London by Ben Richardson, Neil Athey, Gaz Evans and Tim Fielding. The quartet first played together at legendary intimate venue Tommy Flynns in Camden Town while still working on finalising a set and finding a sound that they could call their own.
The set was is nurtured into what the band now describe as 'indie rock n roll with a dance influence and brit pop tendencies'. The psychedelic rock sound harks back to the heyday of the early 90s baggie scene with influences from bands such as The Stone Roses, The Charlatans and Happy Mondays to sprinkles of modern greats such as The Music, Kasabian and Reverend and The Makers.
Early gigs have seen the four piece build up a quick following at some of London's best known venues and club nights including The Barfly, Metro, 93 Feet East, Borderline and The Fly. More recent performances have seen the band take on venues away from the capital city, venturing North, West or anywhere their energetic live shows take them. The start of 2009 has been eventful to say the least with gigs including a support slot with indie pop greats Starsailor!
This summer will see the band take to the festival circuit and return to the studio in a bid to deliver upbeat catchy dance rock to their growing fan-base. A debut EP is promised later this year.
"With a style and sound not to far away from The Music, this four piece are on the right road to a place that looks very nice indeed and we're tagging along for the ride. Bibelots played our first gig of 2009 at The Old Queens Head, Angel, and rolled up with enough energy to power a small town with plenty left over to play a storming set and party away til the end of the night" - Broccoli Music
