Along with her Maori heritage, Lea infuses her solo performances with 100% original soulful music!It is the presence and power of Lea's identity & her succinct understanding of energy transfer that inspires the conscious goal of her performance, to ‘work the room’ in the most positive way.Lea currently performs originals but has a great selection of covers that create a dynamic fusion of reggae, funk, pop, soft rock and acoustic soul – from Bernard Fanning to Tracey Chapman to Bob Dylan and U2 to Jack Johnson, Bob Marley, Kate Ceberano, Joss Stone and Amy Winehouse - ranging from the 70’s to now. This adds diversity and yet familiarity to her performances where audiences can be taken on a journey with her originals and be pleasantly surprised at the ‘originality’ in the covers she sings.Lea has grown as an independent musician with over 15 years experience in the creative industries with a focus on music and the performing arts sowing the seeds of ‘music with heart’. She has a passion to share the creative buzz of expression with the Community & has developed exceptional skills at workshops & facilitating choirs, singing groups & Community Music Projects.With her first solo album currently in pre production at her Noosa Hinterland studio, Lea is drawing on her most recent collection of original songs penned to make an album in the vein of her influences such as - India Ari, Stevie Wonder, Prince and Diesel.......yes, with the lights flashing & the funk band driving behind her full flight of voice, there is some serious boogie to be had!Lea’s current goal is to: “keep challenging myself, embrace the gifts given to me & share these & the love I have for music with the world!”
