With numerous nominations from the Academy of Western Artists and the Western Music Association, The Daughter’s continue to delight audiences with their signature three-part harmony and arrangements of classics such as Tumblin’ Tumbleweeds and Shenandoah. The Daughters music is played on radio stations throughout the U.S., Canada and Europe.Daughters of the Purple Sage are: Carolyn, mandolin: A born and bred Californian, Carolyn sings alto and second soprano, plays a little piano, guitar, bass, and recorder as well as mandolin and is the yodeler of the trio. Audrey grew up on the music of Bob Wills and was influenced by the great swing music of the 40’s. Also a fan of Django Reinhart, Audrey is developing a guitar repertoire in the gypsy jazz style. Audrey lives in Phoenix with her family.Judy, bass: Born in Michigan, Judy plays piano, violin, viola, bass, guitar and dulcimer. Now retired from a 35-year career as a school music teacher, Judy's activities include playing string bass in the Black Hills Symphony, New Horizons Concert Band and Jazz Band.
