Shannon Duncan: born in California, brought up/raised in Northeastern Tennessee. From...? Musically, I've been listening to Scots, Irish, and Welsh folk music since I was 12 years old and started playing instruments recognized from that genre at ages 12 (Gaelic Song), 17 (Tin Whistle), and 21 (Clàrsach, Bodhrán, Mandolin). I've placed 4 times at the North Carolina Mòd for Gaelic Song and 3 times at the Grandfather Mountain Harp Competition, in conjunction with SHSA (Scottish Harp Society of America).
