As time passed, his dad moved to Dallas, married and had nine children. Peter, the youngest, soon found himself behind the piano. The "real" inspiration to perform music however, came later from the "British Invasion" and the Beatles. At age 13, he learned to play drums from a student of the famous drummer, Gene Kruppa. Peter became the "Ringo" of his early "combos". Peter and Keane share a musical history that began in high school. Peter went on to play drums and sing for other groups including the Jimmy Miller Band, brother of the legendary Steve Miller Band, for four years. Peter also played drums for the original guitarist of Fleetwood Mac, Jeremy Spencer, who quit Fleetwood Mac and formed a group in California called the L A Band. Inspired by the love of music, he soon became an accomplished guitarist, keyboardist and prolific songwriter. Eventually he took a different path, performing spiritually inspired music on guitar and keyboard and had one of the first Christian rock bands in Dallas at the time. Peter has recently decided to focus on the acoustic guitar, although he still creates many instrumental solo albums on the keyboard. He plays the acoustic guitar using a thumb pick and unusual tunings, giving him a totally unique and remarkably full sounding style. His main focus now is on the dynamic 3-piece 3R1 Band. Keane and Jimmy are experienced musicians and have, with Peter's unusual style, created a solid, innovative and crowd pleasing trio.
