About Me

Congratulations to the City of Annapolis on the 300th anniversary of its charter's signing! We couldn't have picked a nicer spot.
Having spent several years in England, Ireland, and Tennessee, I returned home to Annapolis in June 2007. I'm very relieved to be back on my family's land; there isn't a place I'd rather be.
My main interest is the study (and singing) of old songs and the styles in which the old singers sang them. I also play Irish Traditional music on the B and C button accordion.
Right now, I have a grant from the Maryland State Arts Council to document Irish Traditional music in Maryland, but I'm also collecting local songs from Annapolis and Maryland, in general. My other project is an ethnography of the late ballad singer Thomas Moran from Drumrahill, Co. Leitrim.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Real nice folks, people from old Maryland families, people interested in old songs, and Elisha Cuthbert.
