About Me

If a story shall ever be written on an individual who has made cataclysmic changes in his life, that story must include a history of wrong doings and sin. That story must also include examples the ignorance that is present in so many lives when it comes to the plans that God sets for us. It took Rahim months of pointless indulgence in music that did not fit his calling to realize he was not in the right place. This birth of an artist referred to as “Ra Dolla” was shunned and admired by many, but most of the admirers liked him for the wrong reasons, which inevitably affected how Ra Dolla went about carrying himself. He wasn’t a bad person, since we are all created in the image of God who reigns supreme over the universe. He just lacked direction and focus, two things that are a necessity when it comes to being a productive teenager. Once introduced to CBC by his close friend, Anthony Smith, like many he thought it was a lame idea. “What was the point of me going to church? There are so many other things that I can be doing with my life and getting up at eight in the morning just doesn’t seem like one of those things.” What the infamous Ra Dolla did not know was that within those church walls there was a job for him, and not one that any human being on this planet could provide him with. It was a job whose employer provided many benefits and health plans along the way; he was referred to as Mr. Alpha or Mr. Omega. Through a long journey down the path of ROP, Ra Dolla was broken down little by little by the experienced employees of this company that was headed by God. Do you know what the mission statement of this company was? “Our mission sin reducing, Deuteronomy makes gospel music…” It was to introduce strangers of the Lord to his grace and power. The law of Supply and Demand is essential in any business. What was supplied was the Word, and what was demanded less and less was sin. After 30 weeks Ra Dolla crossed over, and all seemed well, but the process within was still incomplete. There was still a war raging within him that he couldn’t quell. Surrounded by all his peers and mentors, he realized how happy they were while in their Word, but he couldn’t figure out how to completely grasp it. His previous encounters showed him the errors in his ways, but completely releasing that life seemed almost impossible. He carried this war with him into his first semester in college, where it took a brush with potential death to finally wake up. We refer to this as the Divine Lash. This lash was of epic proportions, as it started opening doors that lead to the answers he Ra Dolla was seeking for so long. Am I speaking in too many metaphors? Here, let me simplify a little: Ra Dolla had a fan base- a pretty extensive one. The attitude he had built was a result of the sex, the lies, and music. His human flaw was his ties to it all. He thought letting it all go would mean letting go to everything that he has worked so hard for. But it wasn’t in Christ, and it wasn’t his calling. Working with Kenien Spann, he was introduced to another way to produce music. This process did not include him making tunes for you to hold candles to and sing. No, this process had a broader approach. It took everything Ra Dolla knew about music and upgraded it. Much to his surprise, he was now making music that demonstrated the Lord’s grace but also had that that twist to it. He learned more and benefited more by working alongside Kenien and Emanuel Gulley, his other close friend. The team formed was called Prime Time. At first it consisted of just Kenien, Rahim, and Emanuel, but it grew into something bigger. The work being done was being watched and admired by the youth of the church. We eventually pulled in kids who could sing, rap, organize, plan, make beats, draw…just about anything. The company grew into a business that the former Ra Dolla is currently playing a big part in. Now as he still proceeds to pursue his education in college, he has completely removed Ra Dolla from his life. His new alias is Ra, and he is Vice President of PrimeTime ISME, Immaculate Spiritual Music Entertainment. Ra Dolla is dead.
