Joe Nelson IV, second youngest of a family of 14, was born in Kalamazoo Michigan.
Joe’s musical influence is primarily due to his family’s heavy involvement in music and entertainment. His mother was a singer in an all female quartette, doing performances in nightclubs and arenas. His uncle is a lead singer in an R and B group established in Atlanta at present. Joe’s grandfather introduced Joe to the rhythmic component of music at the age of 5 by playing the piano around Joe. From that day forward Joe’s love for music increased and his involvement in different areas in music grew stronger.
Joe left home at the age of 13 and was taken in by a well-known Dj in Kalamazoo by the name of “DJ One Ounce†One Ounce introduced Joe to the art of Rapping. Along with perfecting his skill in Rapping, Joe served as One Ounce’s squire, helping him with beats handing out flyers etc..Until the age of 18 when Joe made his first hit titled “Shake it girlâ€. Recorded with Young Don.
This gave rise to a rap group formed by Joe and long time associates called “The Blockâ€. Which later that summer, came to an end due to trouble with the law. Joe then relocated to Atlanta GA, where he met Belinda (Boom Boom) Mckisic, CEO of B3 Records.
Miss Mckisic then plugged Joe into Atlanta’s underground entertainment circuit. Joe started doing shows at least twice a week at clubs such as, “The Pool Palaceâ€, “The Trap Houseâ€, and large events such as Atlanta’s “Birthday Bashâ€. Joe’s successful performances and music along with his mix tape, and help from Miss Mckisic, gave rise to radio spins on hot 107.9.
Due to a transfer with his current employment, Joe was forced to move once again to Richmond VA
