EMMA TRICCA
MINOR WHITE
09EGGSCD/LP
Emma Tricca's cousin was given a new guitar on his 14th birthday. He wouldn't play it... But he wouldn't lend it to her either. So when Emma was 16 her scientist grandfather gave her some money and she bought the guitar from him. When she finished school she headed from Milan to Rome and met some folk musicians where she acquired a finger-picking boyfriend. He wouldn't teach her so she listened to the recordings and stole what she could with her eyes... She rarely looks back.
AVAILABLE NOW EXCLUSIVELY FROM THE FINDERS KEEPERS. AVAILABLE ELSEWHERE 20TH APRIL 2009.

LE B
THE GOOD FORTUNE SOUNDS EP
07EGGS
Pocket melodic tantrums and slackly strummed sweetness sits side by side on this debut self-assembled collection of unpolished peons from Cardiff based Laura Elizabeth Bryon. Recorded in one room with one mic in one take with one objective and a thousand ideas.
This seven-track sketchbook captures a rare artist in her natural habitat devoid of pretension or overproduction with an awkward and ambrosial tone that begs urgently and comforts casually.
Inspired by love, loss and late night adventures Le B's saccharine songsmithery is presented on the finest mechanical medium... 7" vinyl, which includes a version of the English Volk standard ‘The Trees They Do Grow High’.

BETH JEANS HOUGHTON
BETH JEANS HOUGHTON EP
06EGGS
Over the twelve months Newcastle based singer/songwriter Beth Jeans Houghton has garnered a reputation as an an under-the-counter antidote to the current plague of polished wooden acoustic songstresses. With an unconventional mix of popular influences ranging from Zappa, Vashti and Love, Beth has cultivated a haunting sound that is distinctively personal and unique. Since her debut live performance in August 06 Beth has shared backline with an impressive array of artists such as Josephine Foster, PG Six, Dead Meadow, Voice of the Seven Woods and Diane Cluck. She will be appearing alongside her old and new ladylike luminaries on the ‘Bearded Ladies Vol II’ compilation this summer. Her debut EP will be a valued inclusion the growing Bird Records catalogue.

MAGPAHI
MAGPAHI EP
05EGGS
Falsetto fairytale folk songs and 16th century poems from the black and white birds nest. The Bunyan on the ball of Vashti's foot from the frostbitten fells of Rochdale. Alison Cooper is inspired by sepia stories, stray animals and recurring dreams of migration.
