We're putting together a 5 aside football tournament to see which band is as talented on the pitch, as they are on stage.
You dont have to be from Manchester - if you want to join in and beat the Mancs in their own tournament then im sure victory will be even sweeter.
It will be on 28th December 2007 and held at the Powerleague in Whalley Range, Manchester.
Each band team will have to have at least 3 members of the actual band playing, the rest can be made up of session musicians, roadies, managers, entourage etc! (if your band has less than 3 members, than the rest of the team can be made up with the same people as above)
The entrance fee is £35 per band – possible slightly more than you pay to enter a tournament but this isn’t just to decide THE most all round talented band, its also to raise money for a good cause.
We are doing this with and for the ‘Uganda Skills Project’ in association with the ‘Youth Construction Trust’ - an exciting new project that has been put together with all proceeds going towards building schools in Uganda.
Let me know if you're in with the band name & email address either on the wall or direct to me at [email protected].
Please pass onto anyone else you think may be up for it.....
So far this year we joined up 'Oxjam' - Oxfam's biggest ever music festival which takes place throughout October. Nationwide there will be a 1000 events aiming to raise a massive £1m for Oxfam in total and their fight against poverty.
We held ours at East London’s favourite club '93 Feet East', E1. On the line up was five breaking new indie bands all with exciting things on the horizon. There were giveaways from 'Chunk Clothing', 'French Connection' & 'Addict Clothing'. The day was a great success and altogether we raised £800 for Oxfam. So thanks to everyone that helped make this happen.
