~~~ I am the proud mother of one child, my precious 14 year old daughter that has autism. She was diagnosed with autism when she was 18 months old and from then on, it has been my mission to make sure that she has the best possible chances in all areas of life, not only when it comes to education. Actually, there are many things that we both learn from each other on a daily basis and I take just as much pride in learning things from her as I do in teaching her things. If asked if I was to have been given a choice, would I have chosen to have a child without special needs and my answer would be NO. God chose to give me a special child for a special reason and I am grateful for that Gift!! He knew I could handle it and I have never & would never question that...Everything Happens For A Reason.
~~~For some of you that do not know what autism is, well Autism (sometimes called “classical autismâ€), is the most common condition in a group of developmental disorders known as the autism spectrum disorders (ASDs).~~~~ If someone has autism, his or her brain has trouble with an important job: making sense of the world. Every day, your brain interprets the sights, sounds, smells, and other sensations that you experience. If your brain couldn't help you understand these things, you would have trouble functioning, talking, going to school, and doing other everyday stuff. Kids can be mildly affected by autism, so that they only have a little trouble in life, or they can be very affected, so that they need a lot of help.
