Growing up on Long Island, I spent most of my time singing for church and family. At the age of nine I sang for the first time in public and thought I would nearly die. Instead it turned out to be the beginning of a love for music.By the time I was seventeen I started to sing at benefits for the Long Island Council for Drug Dependency and other local events and loved it. It was such a blessing to be able to do something for people who really needed it. I have continued to sing for church and other benefits including the Care Net Pregnancy Center in 2004.When I met my husband in 1994, he was my biggest fan. He would tell me I should pursue a career in singing. I would laugh and tell him “yeah right you’re bias, you love meâ€. I have never had someone support me so much as Tom has. I agreed to do a “demo†in 1998 and send it out to see where it would lead. About three weeks after the demo was done we found out our first child was on the way. I knew I wanted to stay home and raise my children so we put my singing career on hold for a little while. Two years later we found out we would be blessed again with another child. Now that the kids are a little older and have become my biggest fans too, Thomas and I decided to give it one more chance. We went into Ascension studios in Brooklyn, CT so I could audition for singing commercials last year, and wouldn’t you know it, I walked out of there with plans for doing a full album. Michael Hopkins, the engineer and Rick Racicot the owner were so excited about the project. It took months to find just the right music for the album. We flew in some of the best musicians in Nashville to do the tracking. Soon after that we went to Nashville to finish up the project. I was so impressed with how kind all the musicians were. Really kind, funny and talented people! Again I couldn’t help but think what a blessing again this all was.Out Of This World is such a labor of love. I can’t believe how much support I have gotten over that past several months. I know that without God at the head of this project, it would have never happened. My husband is the best and I love him so much for all his support and help. My two children, the best thing that has ever happened to me, have become my biggest fans. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
