CHARMIN & FURBY... R.I.P. my beloved SINATRA

About Me

(R.I.P Feb. 6th 2008 ) My name is SINATRA "MOOKIE" WHISKERS... I am a Sealpoint Himalayan / Persian Cat that Loves attention from my Mommy... Lets see... I was born in 1990 and enjoy lying about my age (like most felines do), was adopted by a pilot at the Columbus Airport and lived in a small apartment. He couldn't spend much time with me, being that he was a handsome bachelor, so I later found a new Mommy in Bucyrus and she is one Hot Mama! I get fed healthy meals, nap whenever I need to, get some exercise (and massage do to my age: arthritis). "Purrrrrrr..." I am doing pretty well and enjoy playing with my adopted brothers and sisters. Right now, I am roomates with Furby, my Persian Calico sister (a discarded show-kitty) and Charmin, Mom adopted her because she had severe keratitis in one eye (also a retired/discarded Persian show-kitty), also "Holly Dollie" she's a big Lover (Seal Point Siamese) and Claudette (my younger naughty sister). I have a brother named Cuna (Maine Coon) and a sister named Chicklette (Blue Russian) that are currently living with my Grandma Kay. She's a good cook.
To Make a long story short, each of us were rescued in one way or another (except for Holly, she was given to our family by a Dear Friend who rescued her) because my Mommy doesn't believe in breeding "designer cats" or any cats for that matter). Her idea is to save what we already have here on Earth. Retrieve-Nueter/Spay-Adopt or Relocate. She has even worked with Feral cats. Its amazing to watch them adapt around my tame brothers and sisters (of course, this is after vaccination and testing)...
I too, am a special needs kitty. I am in remission from Feline Infectious Peritonitis (which usually kills cats) diagnosed in 1995... Thanks to the WWW, my Veterinarian and some fabulous home remedies, I have managed to survive the last 12 yrs. I also suffered from Renal Failure back in the early 90's... Oh, and my sister Charmin is fully recovered from the Keratitis and there's only a very tiny scar on her cornea (eye).

Do you really believe that a cat only has 9 lives? I think it all has to do with chance and care??? Plus, its a good idea for older cats to stay inside... Can you believe kitties like us are discarded and found at animal shelters? We were even neglected and unhealthy at one time... Its astonishing... Street cats, ferals, tabbies, just all of us, should be treated equal because we all give love to humans the same way, some of us just take a little more time and care...

We would like to meet some nice pet owners who are into animal rights and have made pets an important part of their daily lives. They bring such joy and comfort to children as well as the sick, elderly and disabled. They work miracles in healing, lower blood pressure in humans, nurture cancer patients, aid in pain control etc.... Cats are one of God's magnificent creatures... Adopt a pet today... If not, try and help feed and care for one... There is always a feral cat in need (if you can handle it)...
